Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!  

Our celebration was shared between the 2 families and it lasted from Wednesday till Sunday.  

Lots of celebrating, lots of turkey dinners, and lots of fun with family!  

We have so much to be thankful for.

Drew and Andrea, his fiance, flew in from Salt Lake City on Wednesday.  

They just got engaged & are getting married in June. 

SO excited for them!

Ed & Ellen hosted an engagement dinner on Wednesday so a few of Drew's groomsmen (& wives) could get together & hangout before they had to go back to Utah.

We had a big meal together on Thanksgiving Day.  

On Friday, the ladies went out for brunch and coffee.

....and the boys went for a hike.

Friday afternoon we packed up and headed out to Gboro.  

The crew was there for Thanksgiving dinner, including Jack (aka Moneybags), Uncle Thomas & Aunt Sara.

Carolyn managed to make homemade cranberry sauce that made your mouth water from the pure goodness. 

Every year the Saturday after Thanksgiving our family drives to West Jefferson to cut down our Christmas tree and visit the ole Ashe County cheese store and eat lunch at Frazier's.  

Love family traditions.

It's the only place in NC that makes & sells their own cheese & has a store.

Even though we look like we are in front of an awkward fence, we're really on the hayride that takes you up the mountain to pick out the Christmas tree you want to chop down.

And no, I didn't physically chop any tree.  

They have guys w/ big muscles that come around with chainsaws who take care of that.

 Here we are on the mountain with all the trees.

Each tree is $25, no matter how tall or short it is. 

 And when we got home we had a special dinner planned for my parents because they had birthdays recently.  

Dad's was the 23rd and Mom's is the 30th.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The 4 kiddos dressed up like waitresses/waitors & served them a 3 course candlelight dinner.  :) 

We all talked in different accents when we brought them their food.  

It was fun for everyone.

Before we left, J got some good playtime with his Nana and Grandpa.

Overall a great Thanksgiving holiday!
