We went to the doctor for Parker's 6 month checkup and he's just as cute & healthy as he can be!
WEIGHT: 18 lbs 14 oz (72%)
LENGTH: 28 3/4 in (99%)
HEAD: 17 1/2 in (79%)
Hey 'chunky legs'! (as Jacob calls him)
The doctor was so pleased with his growth and strength and development. She said he is doing great! The only 2 little issues that I asked about were his chapped skin around his face & that should clear up when the weather gets better. It's gotten so chapped where that passy covers his mouth that it's split his lip and kinda scabbed. Should clear up soon. Also the back of his head is flatter on one side. She said it's definitely not helmet worthy. It should continue to improve as he gets older. Its a result of his soft head when he was extra little and he laid at the same spot for a few months.
This is usually how reading time goes.
Jacob listens.
Parker reaches and tried to grab at the book the whole time.
My heart melts as I capture this moment behind the camera.
Precious.
Precious.
Parker is eating 2 meals/day. Rice cereal & fruit in the morning and rice cereal & vege at night. He is still nursing but lately he's started biting so we are trying to break that habit fast. He doesn't have any teeth yet, but that might change soon (hence the biting).
He is still a super happy baby and loves to laugh & giggle. He is cooing & making sweet baby noises a lot. He has had a cold for past few weeks off & on, but even when he can't breathe really well you can still tickle him and get him laughing. He LOVES to laugh at Jacob. Jacob is basically the most hilarious thing in the world according to Parker.
He is doing really well with sleep. He has created a schedule for himself, takes morning nap around 9/930-1030/11. He goes back down around 2-430pm. He goes down for bed around 730pm and wakes up at 515am for feeding and then goes back down until 715am. Since he's the 2nd child, the morning nap is cut short sometimes if we have to run out the door but he's super flexible and I love that he put himself on this schedule.
Look at those sleepy eyes!
Good morning buddy!
Every.single.thing goes in his mouth...
He can sit up for a short time. He loves to jump in the jumpy seat that hangs in the doorway and sit in his exersaucer. Sometimes he gets a little fidgety while sitting in our lap in the morning and he really just wants to go play with his toys in his exersaucer. So cute that he has opinions now! He is rolling all over his crib and he can roll both directions while on the floor, but he's not a huge mover. He's usually fine rolling on his belly once and grabbing at his toys. He loves his passy... a lot. Like all the time. If I take it out for awhile, I start to think I have a slightly fussy baby so then I put it back in. :)
I see you sitting up long enough for momma to snap a picture of you. :)
Gotta love some footie Christmas PJs in March. :)
(it's currently snowing right now as I type this.... what in the world!?)
Happy 6 months buddy! We love you!
