Roadtrip to Greenville, SC!

We just got back from a fun little road trip to Greenville, SC.  You might be wondering what in the world we were doing down there.  Welp, we wanted to check it out and had never been there before.  We didn't have any big plans or expectations for the road trip... just wanted to see the sites, visit a church, and meet some locals.  By the end of our visit, we checked all of these things off the list.  Our fam always treats any road trip like a vacation so we got lots of  'treats' from the gas stations and veered off course for any interesting stops (like an awesome kids consignment store or the university my mom graduated from!). Just to warn ya, my camera battery died the first few hours were were there.  I know, so sad.  Ok, here's a little summary of Greenville...

First, we headed downtown & there was a food festival going on.  

I have never seen so many strollers in one place. TONS of kiddos.

They renovated the downtown area a couple years ago, and it's adorable!

There's about a mile of cute shops & restaurants.

 Love all the trees that line the streets!

There is a fun river that runs through downtown.  

They have created a gorgeous park next to natural waterfalls.

After a couple hours, he hopped in the car and headed out to 

FURMAN UNIVERSITY!!!!

This place could be described as a little piece of paradise.  

Never in my life have I been to a campus more beautiful.

There is an amazing pond/lake in the middle of campus.
We sat out on the grass next to the lake under the oak trees for awhile.
So relaxing!

Next we headed back to our hotel to check in and let Jakester rest.
The hotel we stayed in was super nice & we paid nuttin for it (thanks Marriott points)!
One of the best surprises was the realization that Chris is now a 'gold member' since he travels so much and you know what that means?!?!  Yup, free breakfast that included everything imaginable!
Homemade granola,
fruit,
huge waffles that melted in your mouth,
coffee,
fresh orange juice,
yogurt...
tons more but this was my breakfast!  :)

We checked out North Hills Baptist Church.  It was a solid church where the Gospel is preached.
They are going through the book of James right now and we met some super nice people!

Overall, we had a fabulous trip!
