Jacob 10 Month Update

For all you keeping up with your math, this post is SUPER late.  Our life has been just a tad bit crazy the last couple weeks and I remembered a few days ago that I never did a 10 month update for our little nugget of joy.  These posts are mainly for me not to forget what happened & when it happened, but I figure a few of you readers (whoever you are out there) might like a few pics of the chunky cheeks.

Jacob is a good eater all around.  He is trying more & more table foods.  He does really well picking up Cheerios and Puffs and lightly toasted bread/bagel.  He loves yogurt!  The doc told me at the 9 mo appt that he needs to be taking in more calories so yogurt is almost a staple at dinner.  He nurses 3X per day and sits at his highchair for 3-4 meals/day.

He loves, loves, loves to read books.  He has his favorites that he'll keep flipping the pages even when we've read the whole book.

Jacob is an active booger, and he took 4 steps at 9 1/2 months.  He's been practicing walking in the driveway with Dad.  He can stand for a few seconds by himself before he tumbles over.  Right now crawling is his favorite way to scoot around, but it might not be long till I look behind me & see him following me into another room.

Ever since Jacob was born, his eyes light up when he sees a dog. The bigger the dog, the better.  Now that he's pretty mobile, he can make his way around my parents house to harass their Golden Retriever, Piper.   Bless her heart.  She has to basically get up & move as soon as she lays down because the rug-rat is crawling as fast as he can to get to her.  Good thing she's super patient and doesn't get mad when Jacob pulls out numerous fist-fulls of her fur!

Jacob does really well with a routine (so this recent move has thrown us for a little loop) and he was sleeping through the night (7pm-7am) and taking 2 naps (each 1.5 hrs usually).  We didn't travel too much after Christmas, so I was able to get him on a good schedule.  He goes down to sleep after rocking for a few minutes.

We had lots of playdates before we left Raleigh.  Above is Jacob with his buddy Jake Merritt.  Jake is 10 days older than Jacob and I was roommates with his momma our freshmen year at NCSU.  Lizzie & I went to Wesleyan together and then roomed together at State and then we have little boys both named Jake in April 2011.  Crazy!  :)

Just giving Airlie-bug a little pat on the head to show her how much he loves her....  (cant wait to see you in 1.5 weeks here in Nashville!!!!)

And plenty of meltdowns for various reasons. ;)  Chris & I have to try not to laugh when we see this face.  It's like the world is ending, even when nothing happened at all.  He's so precious.

Jacob banged his head on the cabinet door of the entertainment center & he got a busted lip.  I thought he broke his nose at first because of the blood, but he stopped crying quickly and now has his first amazing battle scar.

That about covers it for our little rascal at 10 months!  He's still all smiles, even if he does have a busted lip.  ;)  Such a happy kid all the time.  We love you so much, Jacob!
